This video is a guided meditation/exercise that will help you unblend from activated parts.
When I am getting to know a part or working with a client who is getting to know a part of themselves, I usually start with what is already known about the part. What happens when under the influence of (blended with)this part? In this video I talk about how helpful this is, especially when asking about the impact of the blending.

This same belief, when applied in reverse, makes us responsible for how others feel. We know a belief isn’t true when it causes us to suffer. In this short video, I talk about how this belief is at the core of codependent relationships and what to do to change the belief.
Read moreConstellations are teams of parts that are organized around a shame-based belief formed at some time in the unresolved past. Until that belief is seen as untrue, the pain that the belief causes will continue. Protectors will continue to protect, exiled parts will continue to be exiled. In this video, I use a whiteboard and Post-it notes to illustrate an example of a constellation of parts.

Exiled parts are hidden away and are managed and protected by Protector parts. There are two kinds of Protectors: Managers and Firefighters. Managers work hard to prevent future pain, and Firefighters react when painful things happen.

And by the time it reaches anxiety, there's several fears that have gone suppressed, restricted, ignored, exiled. So one at a time, the parts that hold these concerns, these fears, and these worries need to be acknowledged, witnessed, and attuned to.
Read moreI asked my assistant to create this video so I could share with you a method to practice unblending from activated burdened parts. The video is 32 minutes long. The first 9 minutes and 40 seconds may be interesting and helpful. But if you’re ready to dive in and practice unblending from an activated burdened part (if you’re suffering and want to do something about it), start the video there. You will be instructed to do some writing as you describe something that happened that upset you. I had my assistant build in timers that follow the writing prompts such as “What happened with your thinking when your parts took over?” There’s also a Self-energy Access Scale in the exercise that helps you notice how Self-energy shifts as you bring compassionate interest to your activated parts.
